Founded in 1917 by Sir Percy Fitzpatrick, Rocla has played an integral part in the development of the infrastructure of Southern Africa. The organisation’s mission is to enhance the quality of life through engineering and manufacturing high quality precast concrete infrastructural products. Rocla operates in accordance with its values of having respect, pulling together, acting with integrity, being innovative and showing passion.
Rocla products have been used in most of the nation’s major infrastructural projects. Most recently, in addition to its role as a major supplier to the exciting Coega and Gautrain projects, Rocla supplied the stormwater pipes and culverts installed in the platforms of the massive Medupi and Kusile power stations currently under construction.
Rocla pioneered the manufacture of concrete poles in South Africa and is now the leading manufacturer of pre-cast poles. The use of pre-cast concrete poles has seen a rapid growth across a variety of industries as steel and timber poles have lost their cost effectiveness and have become increasingly environmentally unacceptable
Rolca takes great pride in the high quality of its products which are manufactured in accordance with its ISO 9001 quality system. All products are made to applicable SABS standards where these exist.
In addition to running the well known “Rocla Academy” that trains hundreds of delegates annually in the correct specification and use of concrete infrastructural products its technical advice service is highly regarded in the engineering community.
Rocla is also able to design and manufacture special products at customer requests. This is made possible through the technical expertise and quality controls developed during more than 90 years of experience in the Precast Concrete field.
