Description:
The airport manhole consists of a 1 meter chamber section with a 100mm cast in the base. This section has a female joint similar to that of the IJ (Interlocking Joint) pipe. The joint itself is used for centering the manhole cover slab during installation. The air port unit also consists of a special designed manhole cover slab with a center opening and a lid.

Areas of Use:
The airport manhole is specifically designed for use at airports. The manhole is used vertically as an access shaft alongside the runways where all the cabling of the runway lights come together. This special designed manhole section has access holes around the bottom used for running the cable through.
Handling and Installation:
When handling any concrete product, it is important to remember that, as concrete is a heavy and somewhat brittle material, bumps or shock loads of any description are liable to damage the product. This is usually applicable to the sharp corners around the joints. When offloading and handling product on site, the equipment used must not damage the products. Products can be installed by using specialized equipment or by holes precast through the wall of the manhole section. Special lifting lugs are casted into the cover slab as well as the lid.
Enlarger Slab
Description:
The enlarger slab is a 175mm thick slab that has the male joint profile on one side and the female joint profile on the other side. The enlarge slab is currently only available for enlarging the chamber size from 1m to 1,25m. Special sizes can be accommodated.
Area of use:
The enlarger slab is used where the chamber size needs to be increased to improve working space.
Handling and Installation:

This slab can also be placed at the top section of the manhole e to ease the access of the chamber.
